Salus Barbell Club is a USAW & USAPL Sanctioned Barbell Club in Middletown, NJ


Welcome to Salus Barbell Club, a USAW and USAPL-sanctioned barbell club in Middletown, NJ. Whether you’re an Olympic weightlifter, a CrossFitter looking to improve your lifts, a youth athlete, or simply someone who wants to get stronger, this is the place for you.



New to all of this?

Weightlifting should not be confused with powerlifting, bodybuilding, or general weight training.

  • Weightlifting consists of two events; the snatch and the clean-and-jerk.
  • Powerlifting consists of three events: back squat, deadlift and bench press.

At Salus Barbell Club, our certified coaches help you master whichever style you’re pursuing—weightlifting or powerlifting—with proper form and a clear progression.


Train with a USAW or USAPL Certified Coach

We have both USAW and USAPL Certified Coaches on staff.


Train one-on-one or have a remote weightlifting or powerlifting program designed for your specific goals that you can implement on your own.


All Levels Welcome

Whether you’re new to the lifts, fine tuning your skills for CrossFit, training for a meet, or developing your athletic capacity for another sport, our weightlifting coaches can help you reach your goals!


Dedicated Space to Lift

Unlike our CrossFit floor, the Salus Barbell Club offers a dedicated weightlifting space equipped with:

  • Four lifting platforms
  • Barbells, kilo plates, change plates
  • Jerk blocks, crash pads
  • Pull-up bars, Dips, GHDs, dumbbells, kettlebells
  • Cable machine, treadmill, and more

It’s everything you need to train without distractions, build strength, and focus on your goals.


Youth Barbell Club – Building Strength & Confidence

Our Youth Barbell Club lifters are thriving! Teens learn how to move well, stay safe, and build confidence while lifting alongside other young athletes. This is perfect for youth athletes who want to develop strength for their sport—or simply learn the discipline of weightlifting in a supportive environment.


Drop-Ins Welcome

Traveling through Middletown, NJ? Drop in and train with us! You’ll have access to platforms, equipment, and coaching so you don’t miss a session while you’re away from home.
